On 1 May, 2026, Nichiran Net board members Matsumoto, Takahashi, and Nakamura, joined by representatives of the Japanese community in the Netherlands, visited H.E. Mr. Ryūichirō Michii, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, at his official residence in The Hague.
The purpose of this courtesy visit was to provide an overview of the various organizations and their activities within the Japanese community in the Netherlands. By sharing our various missions and current activities, we aimed to foster a deeper understanding of our work and seek continued support and cooperation from the Embassy.
The following organizations participated in the visit:
- JWC (Japan Women’s Club) – Represented by Ms. Azumi Verheij
- Kamome no Kai – Represented by Ms. Emiko Kan’nan
- NALC – Represented by Mr. Kuniharu Iwasaki
- Stichting Japanese Helpdesk – Represented by Ms. Kiyo Fujiki
- JACOP (Japan Communities Platform) – Represented by Ms. Mayumi Takahashi
- Furusato Huis – Represented by Ms. Mayumi Takahashi
- Nichiran Net
Ambassador Michii, along with Mr. Horiuchi, Consul and Mrs. Fujimoto (1st Secretary, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs), graciously hosted us for over two hours. They listened intently to the presentations from each representative and engaged in a dynamic exchange of questions and ideas, showing a keen interest in the community’s efforts.
